Ever met someone that answers the simple question of how they’re doing with, “Outstanding!”? That’s Jason Albuquerque, our COO. Not only does he say that daily, but that one word pretty much sums up not only his career but who he is as an individual. With a long history of achievements in the technology industry, no one is more deserving of the Tech 10 Lifetime Achievement Award from Rhode Island Monthly.

For Jason, his accomplishments go beyond just his career. Being a leader also means dedication to your community. Every day is an opportunity to be the best he can be at whatever he’s doing. Whether that’s volunteering to improve his community or mentoring aspiring tech professionals, his mantra is to always bring his A game. Which is why he considers himself a “Servant Leader” and serves on several boards and committees such as the Computer Science for RI as well as the RI Technology Workforce, just to name a few. For Envision, he serves on the Employee Advisory Board & Community Engagement Team. Not to mention he’s a US Marine Corps Veteran.

"Jason is a leader not by designation but by deeds. He uncovers and nurtures the latent potential in each of us, even when we ourselves are blind to it. To me, he is first a friend, then a guide, and finally, a leader. One that I will follow as long as time allows." – Manuel Lobao, Senior Manager of Information Security at Envision.

As a mentor, Jason focuses on the individual to see their full potential before they even know it. Rather than checking off boxes and trying to fit a mold, he creates a roadmap that allows those he’s working with to build their own mold and have it fit around them.

"True leaders are confident, courageous, and act with integrity. They understand where we're going and never forget where we came from. They empower people through mentorship and enablement. When I think of who and what a leader is, Jason Albuquerque is at the top of my list. He is a leader amongst leaders." – Emilio Teixeira, Security Engineer at Envision.

It’s not just in the tech world either. Jason’s strategies can be applied across all business pressures. His ability to continuously learn allows him to take advantage of opportunities before others even see it.

"Every hire changes the cultural flavor of a company. People bring their own values, ambition, and energy to the equation. Some people assert that more than others and have a larger impact on the business. Jason Albuquerque is one of those individuals whose energy and enthusiasm are contagious and impactful. He elevates who we are and helps bring out the best in the people here at Envision. I can trust and rely on Jason to always protect our people, clients and values," Todd Knapp, CEO.

Jason takes pride in leading the charge, and for building a culture that is innovative and secure by design for Envision and its clients. He brings the highest levels of leadership, industry knowledge, and agility that today’s industry requires to effectively respond to the rapidly changing technology, threat, risk, and business landscapes.

Prior to his time at Envision, Jason was CIO and CSO of a half-billion-dollar IT services company. One of the largest in the US. In addition to the Tech 10 Lifetime Achievement Award, he has been a recipient of several prestigious recognitions and awards in technology and leadership, including being named a “2021 Top Cybersecurity Leader" by Security Magazine partnered with (ISC) and a seven-time National Public Technology Institute Solutions Award winner.
