The Tech10 award, granted by a partnership between Rhode Island Monthly and the Tech10 Advisory Group, recognizes leaders that utilize technology to improve the way people live and work in Southern New England.
Scott's career in tech began when he joined the U.S. Navy. He served as a communications officer on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise and was deployed to the gulf during 9/11. After fulfilling his Navy commitment, Scott worked in helpdesk and equipment management roles. He joined Envision in an engineering support capacity, but quickly grew beyond that role. In the 12.5 years with the company, he moved into SMB services, advanced to Senior Engineer, and was recently promoted to Envision's CxO services team, serving as a virtual CTO for our customers.
Scott's career is punctuated with notable successes. A recent project that he spearheaded focused on improving communication at one of New England's largest CPA firms. Scott performed a careful evaluation of their current intranet platform, as well as a comprehensive review of more than a dozen alternates. He zeroed in on modern communication and data management technologies that were customizable, scalable, and would bring immediate value. Scott was responsible for the design, implementation, and user training of these platforms. Ultimately, his proposed solution resulted in x3 greater employee engagement than the old intranet's best-recorded statistics.
“Scott is a leader and an innovator,” said Todd Knapp, Envision’s Founder & CEO. “He isn't afraid to offer new suggestions. He's also incredibly patient and client-focused. I can't think of anyone that deserves this honor more."
Envision congratulates Scott on this well-deserved award. For more information, visit rimonthly.com
